Information About Your Responsibilities
The driver of this vehicle acknowledges that driving on the Mt. Washington Auto Road presents unique challenges to the driver and
the vehicle. These challenges include, but are not limited to, each of the following and combinations of the following: (1) Variable
and changing weather conditions, in terms of temperature, wind velocity, wind direction, lighting and/or precipitation; (2) Variable road
surface conditions and driving traction, directly related to weather conditions, the presence of other vehicles and/or both paved and
unpaved sections of the road; (3) A road surface which averages 12% grade over an 8 mile length, with some portions having greater
or lesser actual grades; (4) A narrow road which does not have guard rails, with extensive segments over open ground; (5) Great
scenic beauty which can be distracting to vehicle drivers and other vehicle occupants; (6) No traffic control personnel or equipment,
such as signals, traffic lights, and/or warning lights, to assist a vehicle operator in relation to other traffic in both directions; and (7)
Other hazards known and unknown. The driver of this vehicle acknowledges that the driver is aware that the Glen & Mt. Washington
Stage Company offers alternative transportation to the top of Mt. Washington, for an appropriate fare, which would permit the driver to
reach the top without driving a vehicle.
By purchasing this pass to drive up the Mt. Washington Auto Road, the driver further acknowledges that: (A) The driver will be the
sole person operating and in charge of the operation of the vehicle to which the ticket is delivered; (B) The driver will not continue to
drive up or down the Mt. Washington Auto Road if the vehicle has or develops any mechanical problems; (C) The driver has no known
history of difficulty with heights or open spaces, and if such difficulties arise during the drive up or down the Mt. Washington Auto Road
the driver will immediately stop driving; (D) The driver accepts full responsibility for the safe and prudent operation of the vehicle at
all times while on the Mt. Washington Auto Road; and (E) The driver is responsible for the conduct and actions of all occupants of the
vehicle during the entire time the vehicle is on any portion of the Mt. Washington Auto Road.
The Mt. Washington Auto Road reserves the right to revoke this pass without refund for any abuse of priviledge or misuse, including
any commercial application. Passholder must present both season pass and valid driver’s license at the Toll House in order to be
granted passage up the Mt. Washington Auto Road. Pass only valid during regular operating hours. Pass is non-transferable.
