Supervisor’s Message
Summer has come and the Museum staff have developed two adult programmes for August, currently working
on one for November. On August 1, a trip to St. Jacobs is scheduled August 22 the bus will be heading to the
Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto to see the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit. Sometime in November a trip is being
planned to the Art Gallery of Ontario to see Tutankhamen: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs.
Children’s programming is in full swing at the Station. Please browse the calendar in this issue for upcoming
trips and programmes. If you have any questions please contact Museum staff at 705-445-4811.
Museum staff would like to introduce you to the successful candidates for the summer grant positions. These
students are instrumental in the success of the Collingwood Museum.
I hope every one is enjoying the summer weather so far. If you are out for a walk along the trails or just
driving by please drop in and stay hello. Once again I invite you to visit the Museum over the coming months.

Summer Staff Introductions
My name is Adara Bull and I am currently a full time student
at Georgian College in the Veterinary Technician program. I
commute from Collingwood to the Orillia campus everyday. I
have 2 “children”, a handsome dog named Archie, who is a
Beagle X, and a beautiful cat named Puff, she is a Domestic
Long hair and is a fluffy orange and white!
For my grade 11 Co-op in high school, I chose to do it here at
the museum. I worked closely with Susan and many of the
other staff members working with the artifacts and gathering
information and imputing it into the computers. I love history.
I took history courses all through high school, even my first
year in college; I was able to take a 20th Century History
course which I quite enjoyed. I like to learn new things, especially about my home town. I am excited to see the things I
come across in my summer here at the Museum.
Hi everyone! My name is Haley French, and I will be the Education Assistant at the Collingwood Museum for the summer season. Mainly I will be planning historical bus trips for adults, but I
will also assist with the children’s programming, special events,
and collections management. I have been a part of the team at the
Station in some capacity for almost five years now, and look forward to another exciting summer. I will be returning to the University of Toronto in the fall for my fourth year studying Visual
Arts and English.
Hello again! My Name is Lee Livingstone and this summer I
have returned to the Museum in the position of Station Attendant
Assistant. My love of Collingwood brings me back home every
summer and I am excited to reacquaint myself with both staff
and visitors. Currently I am a full time student at the University
of Western Ontario, and am working towards completing an
honours specialization in Women’s Studies and Feminist Research as well as a minor in Classical Studies. Returning this autumn semester I will be entering the fourth and last year of my
undergraduate program. I shall also be renewing my involvement
with the Women’s Studies and Feminist Research Student Council as a Fourth Year Representative. Here at the Museum I will
be involved in the Elvis Festival and the development of educational summer children’s programming. I am looking forward to
greeting both familiar and new faces here at “The Station” this
summer.
Hello,
My name is Blake Morrison and I am one of the Collections Management Assistants this summer at the museum. I grew up about
one mile south of Collingwood and attended high school at C.C.I.
Currently I am finishing my Masters degree in Canadian Rural History at the University of Guelph. I am looking forward to learning
more about the history of Collingwood and maybe even finding out
about my family too.
