This is an eight week programme of study exploring key reading and writing skills that will

Drama: A Flavour of Shakespeare
A nine week Programme of Study introducing pupils to Elizabethan/Jacobean theatre and
Shakespeare. Pupils will learn about Shakespeare’s life and life in Elizabethan London and
they will also be introduced to the methods for studying a play. Pupils will gain an insight into
the genres of Shakespeare’s plays and gain an overview into some of Shakespeare’s famous
plays through active approaches. We will then focus specifically on ‘A Midsummer Night’s
Dream’ for closer/more focused analysis.

Pupils will be presented with three project options with increasing levels of challenge. This will
form an independent project for pupils and they will be required to complete four stages to the
task – Proposal, Planning, Project and Proof (references).
