Fictional 1807 battle for 9 players, French vs Russians & Prussians. Developed by David M. Ensteness in 2014 for testing ESR, provided freely for personal, non-commercial use. This scenario was used during the play testing of ESR to provide for a mid-sized game. Table size was 14’ by 6’ and ground scale used was 1” = 75 yards. Thus the total battlefield was 7 miles by 3 miles. The dark gray areas are elevated terrain, otherwise: woods, roads, a major river, small villages, one town, there were some small tributaries we used as ‘rough’. In our games the Russians *always* chose to setup grand batteries and they were incredibly deadly against head-on attacks. The result was an aggressive French army commander chewed up their own divisions quickly. However, once taken the Russians had no artillery for use anywhere… The scenario typically ran between 5-6 hours with mostly new players, couple experienced players (one to two per side). A game host could lessen the effectiveness of artillery by declaring ‘snow’. www.thewargamingcompany.com Cavalry Infantry Pahlen 5th Division Infantry Adv. The Guard begins the game on ‘reserve’ and may only be released if an enemy division comes within 6” of Napoleon or 12” of their position. No you may not move Napoleon toward the enemy to force the Guard to be released from reserve… yes, attaching Napoleon to a division and attacking with it is allowed, though ridiculous, unless that division breaks, no the Guard stay on reserve.
