Youth Ministry
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
- Gal.2:20
What is LOTW Youth Ministry?
We at Light of the World Youth Ministry believe that in order to live, humans need a relationship
with God. We believe this to be the most fundamental and important truth about life. The purpose
of youth ministry is to both share Truth with teens and develop authentic Catholic community.
Why Youth Ministry?
At our youth functions your teen will be able to meet other teens living their faith and be nurtured
in their own faith through: effective catechesis, relational ministry, discipleship, the sacraments,
the study of scripture, and participation in parish life.

Discipleship Groups
These groups are available for all teens grades 10-12 that allow those in High School to go deeper in their own
faith walk. They meet Sundays on their own. These groups are made up by grade and gender, and meet with a
Discipleship Group Leader. Together they go through discipleship in a more intimate way by means of bible
study, apologetics, and studying our rich Catholic Faith. Included in High School Registration
Middle School
This is for grades 7 and 8. Our middle school youth meet Wednesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm (see calendar for

faith! We offer two yearly retreats. First youth group 9/25. Register for youth group online at:

Confirmation
Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes Baptism and gives us the fullness of the Holy Spirit with His
seven-fold gifts. In the fall we will begin the process of restoring the INITIATION SACRAMENTS (Baptism,
Confirmation & Eucharist) to their original order. It is our desire to do so in cooperation with the vision of our
own Archbishop and the Church as a whole. It will take time to do this so we will begin a gradual lowering of
the age of Confirmation.
Therefore, this fall, Confirmation is open to all 7th, 8th, 9th grade teens and above.
Requirements:
• Register for Confirmation ($10): go online to http://www.lotw.org/confirmation
• Register for ($55) & attend youth group ( either High School or Middle School depending on age)
• Attend Confirmation Classes (see attached calendar for dates)
• Attend Parish Family Retreat (cost not included in registration fee).
• Go to Mass every Sunday (Youth Mass Strongly Encouraged)
• You must register separately for Confirmation and there is an additional $10 fee.
