Area Teen Grows Great Pumpkin
If Charlie Broy,'!1 visits our area
during Hallowe'en, it won't be
difficult to point him in the
direction of The Great Pumpkin,
The fourth largest pumpkin ever
recorded was grown this year by
Alan Nesbitt of Turkey Hill Rd, in
. Conesus and is now on display in
the Holcomb area,
The 579,5 pound pumpkin took
.: third place in the World Pwnpkin
. Confederation contest held earlier
this fall in Collins. It is the largest
New York State pumpkin ever
recorded and the fourth largest
pumpkin now on record with the
confederation.
The giant pumpkin measured 12
, feet, eight inches in circwnference and takes a whole crew of men
to lift. Young Nesbitt, a tenth
" grader at Livonia Central School,
began growing pumpkins last
,year after his interest was
sparked by those grown by,
Leonard Stellpllug of Works Rd. in
Honeoye Falls, another area
