PROGETTO EDUCHANGE

Dear Maria,
I want to tell you that my experience with you was amazing!
I really enjoyed what we did during the lessons and appreciate what you did to yourself
thanks to your trip.
FIrst of all, I want to thank you for your help.
I learned about Russian politics and economy, but what I liked most was the debate.
It really was a sensitive issue, but, together with our teacher and you, we were able to
discuss it deeply.
As you might remember, we were divided into two groups, a "for" group and an "against"
one.
I especially enjoyed the fact that all of us were taking part in the debate.
Thank you for being friendly to us. You have given us a lot to understand.
I look forward to your reply and I hope that you also enjoyed being here.
Love

Hi Maria!
How are you now? In Russia or abroad?
I really want to say thank you for your lessons which taught me lots of things about your
wonderful country. I also liked all the pictures that you showed us, like those of your smart
university. My favourite lesson with you was the last one, because you gave me the
opportunity to debate about some sensitive
issues and open my mind about problems I
had never talked about to anybody.
I think English is a channel which
connects us, it isn t only a language, it is
something more because by using it we
can talk to anyone about whatever we want
to, and we can learn about their culture.
I am so sorry that my English isn't so
good. I wish I could have been able to talk
to you more.
Finally, I'd like to ask you how you
learnt English and why you are so
interested in it.
Write to me soon!
P.S. Don't forget to let me know what you think about the tea eggs

REPORT
Last month we had a very interesting activity at school, which helped me a lot with the
English language. For six weeks, in
fact, Maria, a young Russian
student gave us some English
lessons, assisted by our teacher, in
order to improve our listening and
speaking skills.
Maria was very good and she
spoke a clear English despite the
fact that she comes from Russia.
Moreover, she was very helpful
with all the students.
As far as I could see, Maria has a
strong personality even though she
is very small and short and she
managed to capture everybody's
attention and gain respect, as a real teacher.
All her lessons were presented in powerpoint slides. In the last one we played an
interesting game, resulting in a discussion involving the whole class (in English, of course)
on some current hot issues.
Maria was also able to understand and speak a little Italian, but obviously she spoke only
English to encourage us to practise it.
In my opinion such activities should be proposed more often, because they are extremely
helpful, especially for those who have difficulties with spoken English.

Dear Maria,
I was very happy to have the opportunity to meet you. Since I first saw you you gave me
the impression of being a very sweet and likeable girl, who wanted to try to make her
lessons as interesting as possible.
You talked to us about your country, the government, the trips that you have made, your
impressions about Italy and something about your life.
For me it was a very good experience, because you were able to capture our attention and
use simple words to explain.
I hope to be able to see you again in the future.
Bye.

The experience with Maria was really funny. I learned a lot of things about Russia and
when someone spoke during the lessons he or she had to jump like a bunny for 30
seconds while the other classmates laughed. Maria was very nice and beautiful and she
could speak a lot of languages.
(Andrea Bacco 2C)
The experience with Maria was very interesting, because I learnt a lot of things for
example "Russian School", "Russian Culture", "Russian Sport" and other things. I
remember how my classmates had to jump because they spoke during the lessons and
Maria was fantastic and a beautiful Russian girl. (Riccardo Furlanetto 2C)
I learnt a lot of new words and practiced the language. I discovered a lot of things about
Russia. (Giulia Gardesani 3C)
It has been very interesting to know more about other cultures and especially to discover
her hometown, Saint Petersburg. (Chiara Semenzato 3C)
I particularly liked the discussion lesson with Maria about our opinions and views on some
specific topics. (Nicola Belluco 3C)
We have met Maria who is a really nice and very polite girl. I've been lucky to live this
experience because I had the opportunity to meet a person coming from another country,
with another cultural background. During our lessons with her I learnt a lot of new words,
so I could exercise my English. In addition, I learnt a lot of new and amazing things about
Russia. (Anna Rosso 3C)
