1818 – General Andrew Jackson Invades Florida!
-  Jackson ignores his orders
NOT to invade Spanish colony!
-  Captures nearly every military
post in the colony!
-  Replaced Spanish governor
with an American!
-  Spain demanded Jackson be
punished for his illegal
invasion.!
