Hotel Wentworth closes

as The Huntington Hotel
on January 8 with
Daniel M. Linnard,
father-in-law of
Stephen W. Royce,
serving as Hotel Manager.

Investing partnership
Huntington Hotel
Associates purchases
the Hotel with plans to
demolish and replicate
the main building to
retain its architectural
integrity while meeting
modern standards for
structural safety.
1954
Stephen W. Royce sells
the hotel to the Sheraton
Corporation and it is renamed the Huntington
Sheraton Hotel.
Mr. Royce remains the
hotel’s General Manager.
1969
Stephen W. Royce retires
at the age of 77.

Langham Hospitality
Group purchases the
hotel and re-flags it

Langham invests millions

hotel’s eight cottages.
Core test showed Hotel
possesses only 1/4 the
structural strength
required by modern
standards. Closure of
the main building is
