The Nassau County Member Library Directors formed an adhoc fundraising committee to help
support the New Yorkers for Better Libraries Political Action Committee.
NYLIBS-PAC was created in 2003 by New York library advocates to:
Maintain and increase aid to libraries and library systems.
Sustain and improve library and information services for the people of New York State.
Support elected officials who are pro-library.
The NYLIBS-PAC has been successful in seeing that the New York State legislature has made
over $14 million available to libraries for construction projects and supports legislation
to increase state aid to libraries.
