PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I have often been asked how
we find such outstanding
speakers for our weekly
programs. Although their
information may not always
conform to our existing ideas,
we always learn at LIFE.
To explain…there is a hardworking committee of
members which meets
monthly. They propose and
discuss possible topics for
some 80 speakers per year.
When a topic is agreed upon, a
member volunteers to contact
experts on the subject, getting
a commitment for a specific
date and time.
Remember – none of our
speakers is paid, so they are
truly dedicated to their
subject. Working in the
background are committee
members who receive
information, prepare items for
our newsletter, proofread and
finalize all the details, leading
to a rewarding Friday
afternoon spent with other
curious people. Many thanks
to Co-Chairs Esta Gross and
Rhea Amid and to our
excellent Curriculum
Committee.
