Logo Definition
1. White Red, Blue and Yellow Geometric Twelve-Sided Polygon
The logic (Dodecagon or twelve-sided polygon or 12-gonlogo) that was incorporated
into the design reflects the Islamic arts with the combination of geometry and traditional
art to form a new art consisting of repeating patterns and corresponding shapes.
Generally, the White, Red, Yellow and Blue symbolises the country of Malaysia. The
White inner canton within the geometric polygon border, represents peace and
honesty, Red; hardiness, bravery, strength and valour, Yellow is the royal colour of
the Malay rulers, and finally the colour Blue signifies vigilance, truth and loyalty,
perseverance, justice and also represents the unity of the Malaysian people.
2. The Minarets and Calligraphy
The acronym for Association of Tax Authorities of Islamic Countries; ATAIC is
spelt in Islamic calligraphy, a modern art manner incorporating two towering minarets.
The minaret is a symbol of Islam civilization which also denotes the continuous
cooperation, solidarity and ukhwah amongst its member countries.
3. The Outer Ring
The circular design with letters at the outer ring spell in full the Association of Tax
Authorities of Islamic Countries and also the 13th Annual Technical Conference.
The logo is in a form intended to suggest a globe and the familiar “globe” was replaced
with these letters. The wordings are segregated by two stars signifying that Malaysia
being the host to this prestigious event for the second time.
4. The Red Hibiscus (Bunga Raya)
The Hibiscus (rosa sinensis) or locally known as the “Bunga Raya” is Malaysia’s
National Flower. The word “Bunga” in Malay means "flower", whilst “Raya” in Malay
means "big". The hibiscus is literally known as the "big flower" in Malay. The red of
the petals symbolises the courage, life, and rapid growth of the people of Malaysia,
and the five petals represent the five National Principles. The flower can also be found
imprinted on the Malaysian currency; notes and coins.
