Constitution Day is on September
17. It honors the day the United States
Constitution was signed in 1787. That year,
Congress asked each of the 13 states to
send men to Philadelphia for a meeting.
These men were called delegates. They
helped write the Constitution. Then some of
the 55 delegates who went to the meeting
signed the Constitution.
