What does a good reader do?
¿Qué hace un lector bueno?
Whether you are reading for pleasure or taking a
test like the CRTs, good readers do the same
things:
1. Sometimes you slow down your reading pace
to help you understand and think about what you
are reading.
2. You reread (reread, reread, reread) especially
when you come to, too difficult to understand parts.
3. You visualize what is happening. We call it
"making a mind movie".
4. You make inferences. We call it "reading
between the lines" to discover what the author is
trying to tell you without actually saying it.
5. You use context clues to determine meaning.
No matter how old you are or how long you've been
reading, good readers do the same things!
