NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Associated Student Government of
Barstow Community College (ASG of BCC) will hold regular meetings on the
First and Third Wednesday of every month from 12:00pm through 1:00pm in the
Game Room unless otherwise posted. All meetings will be presided over by the
ASG President.
The ASG of BCC reserves the right to amend the agenda at any time.

A. Approval of expenses for Thanksgiving Celebration for Fort Irwin
Campus.
i. Food, drink, snacks and Supplies from Food 4 Less. Not to
exceed $250.00.
B. Approval of expenses for a lock for the suggestion box from Home
Depot. Not to exceed $35.00.
C. Approval of expenses for drinks, snacks, and food supplies from
Stater Bros. for Native American Month. Not to exceed $300.00.
D. Approval of expenses for National Student Leadership Diversity
Convention on December 6, 2014.
i. Registration. Not to exceed $189.00 per participant.
ii. Rental of a 12 passenger van from Enterprise. Not to exceed
$300.00.
iii. Gas for van. Not to exceed $500.00.
iv. Hotel for participants at the Holiday Inn. Not to exceed
$1800.00.
v. Food for dinner on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Hard Rock
Cafe. Not to exceed $600.00.

E. Approval of expenses for ASG cardigan sweaters from

minimum purchase.

Amendments
G. Approval of expenses for Pizza from Pizza Hut as prizes for the
Halloween Decoration Competition. Not to exceed $200.00.

H. Approval of expenses for the ASG Lights of Learning Booth. Not to

I. Approval of expenses for gifts from Oriental Trading. Not to exceed

J. Approval of fees for Student Trustee to attend ‘An Oasis of
Opportunity Community College Convention’ on November 20th
through the 22nd. All fees are to be paid through the Student
Representation fee account.

Officer Reports:
(Limited to 3 Minutes Each)
 ASG President Mitchell – Anyone can purchase a booth for $35 for
Lights of Learning, you can pick up a form through Ms. Joann. You can
also sign up for costumes for Lights of Learning in the ASG office.
 Vice President Osejo – I would like to remind the clubs to submit their
service hours and I would really like to see the clubs receiving awards at
the end of the year.
 Treasurer Angulo – Sean and I have been putting together a spread sheet
of all budgets and expenses for every event for ASG.
 Secretary White – I have a Technology Committee meeting tomorrow
and if there are any questions you guys have that you would like to see
on the Technology Survey, please submit them to my before tomorrow.
VII. All Other Reports:

 Senator Elisara – I would like to report what ASG did for the Mardi Gras
Parade.
 Senator Mendez – Basketball is getting ready for their home tournament
on November 21st through the 23rd. I did get to meet with calendar
committee and they are considering compressing the calendar which
would make 18 weeks, 16 weeks. This would not take effect for a year
or two.
 Senator Mintun – I did get to attend callboard’s meeting on Wednesdays
and I was Cat in the Hat for the Mardi Gras Parade.
 Senator Navarro – Absent.
 Senator Rodarte – I just wanted to thank everyone who helped with the
float and the parade.
 Senator White  Region IX: Wayne Brown – Absent.

 Student Trustee: Sophia Manzanares – In this month of October there
were six bills that the governor passes; the Veterans/Nonresident Tuition
Exemption, Adult Education Funding, CalGrant Program/Income Tax
contributions to education, Pilots Program, Sexual Assault, and the
Inmate Education Program. If anybody wants to know more about them,
just come and see me after the meeting and I can go over them with more
detail. Also we have a shared governance council meeting today.
VIII. Advisor Reports

 Joann Garcia – I would like to give you a standing ovation for all you in
ASG for all of the hard work you have put into this program and for all of
the clubs and making things work here on campus.
 Ibrahim Aboud – Nothing to Report.
IX.
Club Reports:
(Limited to 5 minutes each)
 Alpha Gamma Sigma – We are still accepting donations from
anybody. You can come up to any AGS member to help donate for
our conference. We will also be having our potluck which will be all
homemade food and it will be November 18th from 12 to 1. The
plates will be $2 minimum donation for a plate.
 Black Student Union – Nothing to report.
 Callboard – We have our maleficent coming up on November 21st, at
6 in the IPAC.
 Club for Christ – We have an event November 24th, hopefully in the
IPAC. It is called Answers in Genesis. There will be a guest speaker
and a Q&A and there will be pizza and drinks.
 Cosmetology – Absent.
 Career Technical Education – Absent.
 Native American – We have a haunted house coming up tomorrow in
the IPAC at 6.
 Phi Theta Kappa – We are doing Burger’s on Demand which is a
fundraiser for our conference. It is $7 for a burger with chips and
drinks. This will be in the amphitheater but it pending approval.
 Science – Nothing to report.
 Veterans – Our meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays of the
month.
