Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
(Thursday)
The trip departs Copenhagen. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to
departure. Travel to Munich is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and toilet.
We make one 45 minute stop. Upon arrival to Munich, we will immediately check
into our campsite.
Day 2
(Friday)
Friday morning the insanity starts. We highly recommend heading to the grounds
where the festival is held called the Theresienwiese. Oktoberfest is a giant festival,
with rides, games, and beer tents. There are 14 tents of varying sizes. Tent capacities
range from 1,000 to 10,000 people. Your Bus2alps Trip Leader will bring you to the
Hofbrau tent, one of the most popular tents at the festival. Once inside, enjoy
authentic Bavarian food, world famous German beer, and plenty of singing. Each
tent specializes in a diferent type of lager so make sure to try a few diferent tents.
If you are looking to spend the day exploring Munich, we will have organized
times for a private group with the famous Munich Bike Tour. On the weekend of
September 17th, this bike tour is included. One tour will depart in the morning and
the other in the aternoon. Your Tour Leader will follow up with more details prior to
the trip. Other places to see while in Munich include the Dachau Concentration
Camp, Deutches Museum, Munich Zoo, Olympic Park, and the BMW Museum.
Consult your Bus2alps Trip Leader for how to navigate Munich and visit each site.
If you plan to attend the festival aterwards, we recommend getting there no later
than 15:00 - 16:00 in order to have the best shot at entrance into a beer tent. If you
are not able to enter a tent, there are plenty of beer gardens to hang out and
enjoy the weather until they resume entrance into the tents.
The night is yours to explore. Most of the festival shuts down around 22:00. Munich
has a diverse nightlife, so if you have the energy, it is worth checking out Munich’s
bars and night clubs. If you prefer, the campsite always has a great ater-festival
atmosphere and party.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 3
(Saturday)
Saturday is the busiest day at Oktoberfest. It is recommended to arrive at the
festival before 8:00 to ensure yourself a spot in the most popular tents. We will
organize an early departure time for you to accompany your guide to the festival.
Consult your Bus2alps Trip Leader for which tents are the most popular. If you arrive
late and are not able to enter the tents, it is recommended to grab a spot in the
beer garden until they start allowing more people to enter the tent.
If you are looking to spend the day exploring Munich, we will have organized
times for a private group with the famous Munich Bike Tour. One tour will depart
in the morning and the other in the evening. Due to the festival, you will need
to book this add-on with us prior to the tour. Bus2alps also suggests going to the
Dachau Concentration Camp, Deutches Museum, BMW Museum, Olympic Park,
and Munich Zoo. If you are interested in a day trip to the Neuschwanstein Castle,
Walt Disney’s inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, it is possible to organize a
private trip based on the group size. Speak with your Bus2alps Trip Leader during
the trip to Munich for more details.

Day 4

Sunday is yours to explore Munich, or to head back for one more day of partying at
the Theresienwiese. Sunday at the festival is more subdued and obtaining entrance
into the beer tents at the Oktoberfest is easier. There is enough time if you wake up
early to check out any of Munich’s great museums. Your Bus2alps Trip Leaders will
be organizing times early on Sunday morning to Dachau Concentration Camp.
Entrance to Dachau is free as it is now a memorial site for those who lost their lives
at the camp which was the irst concentration camp in Germany.
