Shippensburg Relay For Life 2016 Activities/Laps
Theme Laps- Participate with your team by dressing up each Theme Lap Hour. They
make for great photo opportunities and an easy way to join in on the fun! Prize
opportunities available!
Activities- Every activity you participate in will earn you a stamp on your
team/individual Passport found in the registration tent. During closing ceremonies,
the team or individual that has the most stamps will earn a prize.
11:00 - 12:00 PM – Meet your Event Leadership Team: Get a chance to talk to those who
put on the event each year and get to know us! Tell us your ideas and opinions and learn
more about getting involved.
11:30 – 12:00PM – Travel Trivia: Join us with your team or come alone to prove to us
your trivia talents with categories ranging from countries, cultures, and travel.
12:00 - 12:45 PM – Show Your Colors Awareness Lap: Show your fight against cancer by
wearing your survivor’s cancer awareness color and take a lap with your team.**
12:00 – 2:00PM – Children’s Games: Join us in center field for a bunch of fun children’s
games and activities ran by the Shippensburg Cheerleaders.
12:45 - 1:00 PM – Making Strides Lap (Breast Cancer Awareness): Take a lap with the
Breast Fairy and wear PINK! Make sure you pick up some information about Making
Strides Against Breast Cancer on your way around!**
1:00 - 2:00 PM – Water Gun Lap: Grab your water guns and prepare to get wet. This lap
will surely cool things down!**
2:00 - 3:00 PM – Crazy Sock Lap: Show us your craziest socks this hour! Who knows, you
might even win a prize!**
3:00 - 3:30 PM – Banner Parade: Make a banner or flag for your team to parade around
the track. This is the time to show us your team spirit! We can’t wait to see what you
do.**
3:00 – 3:30PM – Newspaper Fashion Show: Get a group 3 or 4 people together and
prepare to compete in our Newspaper Fashion Show. Elect one model and design a
wearable outfit out of newspaper and tape. The winning team will receive a special
prize.
3:30 – 4:00PM – Human Knot: Join in the center field for a game of human knot. After
crisscrossing hands with your fellow participants, you must work together to untangle
yourselves before the other team.

4:00 - 5:00 PM – Crazy Hat Lap: It’s time to get wild and break out those crazy hats.
Show us something we’ve never seen before!**
4:00 – 5:30PM – Volleyball Tournament: Get a team of 4-6 people together and join us
on the volleyball court to prove you are the best team. No experience required!
5:00 - 5:30 PM – Hope Lodge Donation Lap: The Hope Lodge is a place
where cancer patients and their caregivers can stay when their best treatment option is
far from home. We will be collecting donation items for the local Hope Lodge in Hershey
during this lap. Please see attached wish list for needed items.**
7:00 - 8:00 PM – Best Buddie Lap: Grab a pal and take a few laps around the track
together.
7:00 – 8:00PM – Team Photos: Get a photo with your whole team at our photo booth!
Stop by the photo booth anytime between 7-8 and get your picture taken. Photos will
be emailed to Team Captains after the event and will be on the Facebook Page.
8:00 - 9:00 PM – Reverse Lap: It’s time to switch things up and change direction. Walk in
the opposite direction for this lap. Or if you are feeling brave, try walking backwards!
10:00 - 11:00 PM – Pajamas Lap: Put on you PJ’s and take a lap around the track
because tonight, we’re having a giant slumber party and will be up ALL NIGHT!**
10:00 – 10:30PM – Family Feud: Put a team of 4 or 5 together and join us in a game of
Family Feud!
10:30 – 11:00PM – Frozen T-Shirt Contest: Race against other teams to be the first to
put on a frozen t-shirt.
11:00 – 12:00PM – Glow in the dark bubbles: Glow in the dark bubbles supplies
available for team use.
12:00 – 1:00AM – Miss Relay Pageant: Bring your best pageant costume and enter a
contestant into the competition. You will be asked a few questions and then will have time to
walk the track and collect as much money as possible! The contestant raising the most money
will be crowned Miss Relay.**
12:00 - 1:00 AM – Sports Team Lap: Wear your team’s favorite jersey or colors!
1:00 - 1:30 AM – Conga Line: Fall in line and join in on the fun, can we wrap this line the
whole way around the track?
12:00 – 1:00AM – Sleeping Bag Race: Grab your sleeping bags and join us in center field
as we have our sleeping bag sack race.**

2:00 - 6:00 AM – Poker Lap: Pick up a card at the DJ booth while walking around the
track. At the end of each hour, a prize will be awarded to the person with the best hand!
2:00 – 3:00AM – Karaoke/Lip Sync Contest: Don’t be afraid, show us your inner musical
talent or fake it till you make it!
3:00 – 4:00AM – Amazing Race Challenge: We’ve all seen it on TV, now is your chance to
compete for real. Grab a partner and meet at the DJ booth to compete in different
challenges from across the globe.
4:30 – 5:30AM – Minute To Win It Games: Stop at some of our minute to win it tables
and challenge a friend. Compete as many times as you would like.
6:00 - 7:00 AM – Camo Lap: Dress in your camo for some early morning fun!**
6:00 – 6:30AM – Musical Chairs: You know how it works, the last person sitting, wins!
6:30 – 7:00AM – Scavenger Hunt: Pick up your scavenger hunt list by the DJ booth and
snap a selfie with each item on the list. The first group back with a picture of everything
on the list wins!
7:00 - 8:00 AM – Old School Lap: Finish out the morning with a throwback. We want to
see your oldest Relay T-Shirt!**
7:00 – 7:30AM – Travel Trivia: If you missed Trivia before, we have more questions and
more opportunities to win available!
Other ongoing activities





Raffle Baskets – Available from 10:30am-8:30pm in raffle tent.
50/50 Drawings – Pulled at 3:00pm, 8:30pm, and 9:00am.
Lap Beads- Pick up a bead for every lap you walk.
Volleyball & Badminton – A net will be available for use, please bring your own
volleyball or badminton supplies
Photo booth- A photo booth with props will be set up near the registration tent
and will be open all of Relay. Please stop by!
