...And that will be our final answer. Any questions?
Good! Okay, well since we have no questions, everybody knows what the homework is and I will see
you guys all tomorrrow.
Thanks and have a great day!
Student A
How are you keeping up with all the teacher's notes?
Student B
Oh, I'm using a new smartpen.
Student A
What's that?
Student B
It's a book where you can write down the examples and have the teacher's audio as we're doing the
problem.
Student A
No way!
Student B
Yes.
Student A
Does it help you?
Student B
Quite a bit actually. You can plug it into your computer and listen to the lecture, the examples, through
your computer if you wanted to.
Student A
So you don't always need that pen?
Student B
You don't always need it, no. Not if you're gonna go and study the questions from the day prior or
something.
Student A
Wow.
Student B
You just upload it onto your computer
Student A
I think that'd help me a lot. `Cause I'm not doing so good right now. I can't keep up with any notes so,
can you show me how to use it?
Student B
Yes I can.
Student A
Yeah? Thanks.
Student B
You first have to turn the smartpen on.
Then everything we have written down and recorded...because you've got to double tap the record
button before you start.
The lecture Penny did on the board, you write it down. Or if you got example 2, you can go straight to
example 3 by double tapping the example we did with her. So example 2.
[Audio of recorded lecture]
And then she'll explain it from that point instead of going all the way from example 1. And listening
through.
Student A
So if I get example 1, I don't have to press example 1.
Student B
That's correct. Yeah. Or if you needed help on example 3, you just click on example 3.
Student A
Oh, okay. That's pretty simple?
Student B
Yes. And if you wanted to use the computer, all you'd have to do is download the software for the
smartpen and then sync it to that software and it will pick it up on the computer.
Student A
So everything you've written in there is on there?
Student B
Yes.
Student A
That you can put on the computer?
Student B
Yes.
Student A
That's pretty cool!
Student B
So, you go down to your play button, or you can just click right here.
See how it's highlighting what she's doing as she's talking?
Student A
Yeah!
Student B
So if you didn't need that, then you can pause it at the bottom of it.
Student A
That's going to help me so much in this class.
Student B
It does. It makes it really visual at the same time you're hearing it.
Student A
I'm impressed. Can you print this off?
Student B
For sure I can print this off.
Student A
Because I only got examples 1 and part of 2 so...
Student B
Yeah, no problem. I'll print off the whole, every note that I've taken today.
Student A
Awesome! I should get one of these by next class.
Student B
For sure. It's very useful in class. But just make sure that you let Penny know that you're going to be
recording her seminars.
Student A
Okay, I surely will. Thanks for showing me this again.
Student B
No problem. Anytime.
Student A
It's going to help me a lot.
Student B
It helped me.
Instructor
Okay. Good morning everybody. Welcome back.
I hope no one had any problems with the homework.
Alright, so today we're going to carry on with our multiplying radicals and we're going to make them a
little bigger, a little more fancy. But it's going to be fun!
Okay, so lets have a look at Example 1...
