one of the projects below;
❏ Musical Performance (no more than 3 in the group)
❏ As you read chapters 17-19, you must collect the facts of the case and think
about your own reaction to all the information that was presented in court.

❏ Lyrics will be typed; double spaced; and submitted the day of your performance.
❏ Your song may be any genre of music.
❏ The song must show evidence that you have understood the testimonies that
were presented by Mr. Tate, Mr. Ewell, Mayella, and Tom Robinson.
❏ Your song must indicate your reaction to the events that unfolded in the
courtroom. This may include how Atticus and Mr. Gilmer questioned and treated
all four individuals.
❏ Re-enactment of the trial in modern language (no more than 4 people in the group)
❏ As you read chapters 17-19, visualize the events that unfold in the courtroom.
❏ Your movie can be 5- 10 minutes in length. (do not exceed 10 minutes)
❏ There must be a script that has the dialogue for each character.
❏ The movie and script must show evidence that you have understood the
testimonies that were presented by Mr. Tate, Mr. Ewell, Mayella, and Tom
Robinson.
❏ It must also show the role that Atticus and Mr. Gilmer played in court.
❏ Your movie must use modern day language to retell the events of chapters
17-19.
❏ Since there are more than 4 roles, some of you will need to play more than one
character.
❏ Tom Robinson Journal or Letter (individual)
❏ As you read chapters 17-19, you must think about Tom Robinson’s perspective.
❏ How must he have felt or what must he have thought as he heard the testimony
of Mr. Tate, Mr. Ewell, and Mayella?
❏ How must he have felt about Atticus’ questioning or of Mr. Gilmer’s questioning?
❏ Pretend that after his testimony (chapter 19), Tom Robinson writes a letter to his
wife or a journal entry expressing how he felt about all that had unfolded in the
courtroom.

❏ It must show evidence that you have understood the testimonies that were
presented by Mr. Tate, Mr. Ewell, Mayella, and Tom Robinson.
❏ It must indicate the kind of reaction that Tom had towards the work of Atticus and
Mr. Gilmer during the trial.
❏ Podcast - radio station reporting from the courtroom (individual or with a partner)

and how the courtroom or judge reacted.
❏ Your podcast must be 3-8 minutes in length.
❏ Your script must be typed and turned in the day that you present.
❏ Your podcast must give a play by play of what happened in the courtroom.
❏ Who took the stand? What was said by those individuals? What was the
courtroom reaction? What did Mr. Gilmer and Mr. Atticus ask?
❏ Case files for each individual called to the stand (individual)
❏ As you read chapters 17-19, you must collect the facts of the case.
❏ You must have a separate page for Mr. Tate, Mr. Ewell, Mayella, and Tom
Robinson.
❏ Each page should include a pencil drawing of that individual (use whatever
information you have gathered from the novel to complete this drawing; if the
novel does not give you information about their appearance, then use your
imagination)
❏ Each page should include the individual’s name; gender; and their connection to
the case.
❏ Each page should include a summary of what they said while on the stand.
❏ Each page should also include a short reflection of how they must have felt after
being questioned. How did they feel about how they were questioned?
❏ Each case file must be 1-2 pages in length; typed; double spaced.
