5010 is coming! ARE YOU SENDING 9 DIGIT ZIP CODES?: With the implementation of 5010, many payers will start requiring the full 9 digit zip code for certain addresses/claims. Prepare for this now by simply verifying that you are currently sending 9 digit zip codes for any Provider addresses on your claims. Addresses to check: ‐ Billing Provider Addresses (Box 33, Loop 2010AA) ‐ Service Facility Addresses (Box 32, Loop 2310D) ‐ Pay‐To Provider Addresses (sometimes sent in Box 33, Loop 2010AB) HOW TO CHECK IF YOU ARE SENDING 9 DIGIT ZIP CODES: If you are not sure how to check whether you are currently sending 9 digit zip codes, follow these simple directions: ‐ In your Office Ally account, click on the Inventory Reporting tool ‐ Enter in a date range that will pull up your most recent claims submission ‐ Click SEARCH ‐ When the results return, click on the ClaimID link of random claims and verify that your zip codes in Boxes 32 and 33 contain 9 digits. If you find that you are not currently sending the full 9 digit zip codes, don’t procrastinate. Start Now! HOW TO SEND 9 DIGIT ZIP CODES: Online Entry Users: ‐ Click on the Manage Stored Information link ‐ Edit all your Billing Providers, Facilities and/or Templates making sure you have entered the full 9 digit zip codes. Practice Mate and EHR 24/7 Users: ‐ Click on the Manage Office tab ‐ Edit all your Billing Providers, Providers and Facilities making sure you have entered the full 9 digit zip codes. Upload Users: ‐ Update the zip codes in the address fields within your software (if you are not sure where to check, contact your software vendor for assistance). ‐ Once you have updated them and have sent claims, check the new claims to verify the 9 digit zip codes are coming through to Office Ally by checking in Inventory Reporting again. ‐ If, for some reason, you have entered the 9 digit zip code in your software and it is still not coming across to Office Ally on your claims, please contact Office Ally Technical Support at (866) 575‐4120 option 2 for further assistance.
