Room information
LECTURE THEATRE* 85 delegates – max (ground floor)
Full multi-media equipment from either a fixed lectern or the Projection Room
are incorporated but the floor-to-ceiling windows have been preserved as a
psychological counterbalance and present pleasant views over the lawns to
the lake. Electrically operated heavy curtains produce blackout for
presentations.
Please note that any refreshments for clients using the Lecture Theatre
will require an additional room
LONG DRAWING ROOM* 70 delegates – max, Width 5.5 meters, Length
14 meters (ground floor)
As the name implies the great salon is a long, elegant room with large
windows to the south side of the house and is the principal attraction for large
gatherings. It inter-connects with the Lecture Theatre, via a small vestibule
overlooking the lake, to permit a flexible suite of rooms. Room layout can be
arranged for a variety of events – meetings and lectures, trade shows etc, and
formal and informal dining in conjunction with the Lecture Theatre.
SMALL DRAWING ROOM* Width 5 meters, Length 5 meters (ground
floor)
This delightful ground floor room has an old-world charm and looks out into
the Conservatory and over the front of the building. It can accommodate up to
14 delegates in a ‘boardroom’ layout.
CONFERENCE ROOM 1* Width 5 meters, length 5 meters (ground floor)
This ground floor room looks out over the front of the building and can
accommodate up to 18 delegates ‘theatre style’ and 14 in a ‘boardroom’
layout.
CONFERENCE ROOM 2* (upper ground floor)
Conference Room 2 is a half-panelled, light and airy room located behind the
Lecture Theatre, which lends itself well to ‘boardroom style’ layout for up to 18
delegates.
CONFERENCE ROOM 3* Width 4.4 meters, Length 6.4 meters (first floor)
At the top of the grand staircase and with views from the big windows
sweeping down the length of the main drive, this first floor room is a medium
sized multi-purpose facility that can happily accommodate a range of layouts
to suit any style of meeting. Up to 25 delegates, dependant on room layout.
*All rooms include basic AV equipment – Flipchart & pens, Whiteboard, OHP, Screen, and TV
& DVD ON REQUEST. An LCD projector is available with or without a laptop computer at a
small additional charge.

Guidance Note for Delegates
These brief notes are intended to help everyone enjoy their visit to Wrightington
Conference Centre.
Security
All delegates are asked not lo leave their belongings unattended. Wrightington,
Wigan & Leigh NHS Trust can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to
personal belongings.
Fire Instructions
In the event of a fire, a continuous alarm will sound. Please leave the building
immediately by the nearest exit following the fire exit signs. DO NOT USE THE LIFT.
Please gather in the car park to the right of the building when you leave. DO NOT
stop to collect personal belongings. DO NOT re-enter the building until told to do so.
Telephones
There are pay phones situated in the main hospital building but not in the Conference
Centre itself. Please switch mobiles phones off as a matter of courtesy to Lecturers.
Toilets
Male, female and disabled toilets are situated on the upper ground floor corridor.
Male and female toilets are also available on the first floor by the lift. All toilets are
available via the lift.
Car Parking
Please remind your delegates that, in line with Trust policy, all car parking on the
Wrightington Hospital site is PAY & DISPLAY. Charges are displayed on the ticket
machines.
Queries and Problems
The Centre staff are located in the reception foyer and are generally available during
office hours to offer assistance.

WAY IN
The nearest railway station is Appley Bridge Station, which is on the Wigan-Southport line and trains call every hour in both
directions Wigan rail stations are Wigan North Western (national line) and Wigan Wallgate
