The LINOS Mirror Mounts
Mirror mounts are an essential element in
optical assemblies. The variety of mounts
available from LINOS meets a broad range of
requirements in science and industry.
The LINOS adjust.x series is both economical
and precise. Models with integrated base
plates have dimensions compatible with those of Lees mirror mounts, so you can upgrade to Lees at any time. Our standard M
series includes extremely compact mirror
mounts handled from above, gimbal mirror
mounts, and rugged industry mirror mounts
with incomparable long-term stability.phisticated processing.
Lees mirror mounts, the premium class
mounts from LINOS, have a unique design
that guarantees the highest possible precision. Their excellent quality is further ensured
by features such as fine adjustment screws
that are specially ground for mutual fit with
the least possible backlash, counter surfaces
of sapphire and the special Krytox lubricant.

aluminum oxide coating known as​​​
anodize. The unique design of the base is​​​
more rigid and has a higher frequency​​​
than flat mounts. The LM1's wide​​​bottom
provides superior mounting to​​​tables or
accessories. Thus, greater​​​stability with
less susceptibility to​​​vibration.
We provide the largest and strongest​​​
mounting holes to ensure stability.​​​
Deflections are solely the result of​​​
material elasticity.

The LM1 is equipped with three 10-80​​​
adjustment screws each with 0.175 in. of​​​
travel minimum. The adjustment screws​​​
are considered to have the finest​​​
resolution available today.
Krytox fluorinated lubricant
Krytox greases have vapor pressures of
8​​​x 10-8 to 6 x 10-9 torr at 30 °C (100 °F)​​​
according to Du Pont and thus are​​​
unlikely to outgas on your expensive​​​
optics. Krytox also has a high degree of​​​
chemical inertness and outstanding​​​
oxidation resistance. Therefore, the​​​
adjustment screws will maintain their​​​
original smooth feeling if used daily,​​​
monthly, or yearly.
LM1-4021-0 and RB1-100-0
Metric
Dynamic range
The LM1 mount can be angularly​​​
adjusted to more than ± 25.0°. The front​​​
plate can also translate more than
±​​​0.175 in.
The standard mounting hole in the base​​​
is M6. The top set screw in the front​​​
plate is 4-40 UNC or 6-32 UNC.
Sapphire hard seat technology
We use a large 3/16 x 0.034 in. sapphire​​​
flat polished to optical standards on all​​​
LM1 mounts. The hard cylindrical vee is​​​
also standard on all LM1 mounts. These​​​
seats are so tough, they have been​​​
known to work flawlessly even when the​​​
mount has been dropped.
Nylon tipped set screws
Kinematically locate the optic and secure
it without stressing or damaging​​​it. They
also allow for easy removal and​​​replacement.

Positioners
The quick change indexer LI2 permits​​​
simple, reproducible exchange of​​​mirror
mounts or frame or plate holders​​​in laser
beams. Its catch design using​​​three
spheres ensures clean​​​reproducibility. The
upper part can be​​​securely offset from
the lower part in 15°​​​steps just by
pressing the two​​​pushbuttons, without
the need for any​​​extra tools.
Rail Systems
Usually, an LM2 mirror mount is attached​​​
to the upper part of the indexer so that​​​
this provides a beam height of 4“. The​​​
lower part of the indexer remains firmly​​​
attached to the optical table.
Mounts and Posts
LINOS offers quick riser bases in 2​​​
versions: with lower base and mounting​​​
plate. Each version is available in inch or​​​
metric dimensions. The upper and lower​​​
parts (upper and lower base parts) can​​​
also be separately supplied so that​​​
several mirror mounts can be used in​​​
exact positions on a lower part or one​​​
mirror mount can be attached in​​​
different positions.
This is advantageous, if, for instance,​​​
mirrors with different coatings need to​​​
be used in succession.
The LI2 indexer can be installed in a​​​
vertical, horizontal or even in an​​​
overhead position, guaranteeing the​​​
best possible stability and reproducibility​​​
in any installation position. The​​​mounting plate is designed to​​​accommodate
spacing of 25.4 mm or 25​​​mm, which is
commonly used for most​​​optical tables.

Tip: The quick-change indexer is suitable for more than Lees mirror
mounts. The universal M6 or ¼" thread lets you fasten your choice of
other components to the indexer, which ensures reproducible switching of components.
Hard Seats
Lees Optical Instrument Co., Inc. was the​​​​​
first to offer sapphire hard seat​​​​​technology when the hard seat option​​​​​was
developed for LM1 and LM2 optical​​​​​
mounts. This technology is standard on​​​​​
all LM1, LM2, and LM3 optical mounts.

The adjust.x™mirror mounts are​​​
equipped with three fine thread screws​​​
made of stainless steel in a brass bushing.​​​
Using tight tolerances, the screws have​​​
low hysteresis and backlash. These Allen​​​
key screws guarantee a wobble free​​​
movement, high precision, and long term​​​
stability. One knob will be delivered with​​​
each mirror mount.

Mirror mounts in the adjust.x series are​​​​​
available in different designs to suit​​​​​
individual requirements.
The adjust.x small mount has an​​​​​L-shaped
base with M6 connection​​​​​threads and
counterbores for M4 screws.​​​​​It can be
fastened over both of the​​​​​brackets on
the base.
Tube System C
The mirror mounts are equipped with​​​​​
three fine adjustment screws. You can​​​​​
choose between 0.15 and 0.25 mm​​​​​
thread pitch as well as between Allen​​​​​
screws and screws with an adjusting​​​​​
knob.
Positioners
• These mirror mounts are also available​
in specially cleaned and cleanroompacked variants that meet the​
requirements of Cleanroom Class​
10000.
Five types of front plate are available:
1: Plain front plate without bore holes.​​​​​
For affixing mirrors of any dimensions, or​​​​​
for creating custom fastenings. This plate​​​​​
has a central bore hole.
2: Closed front plate for 1/2“ mirror. The​​​​​
mirror is locked in place by a threaded​​​​​
pin with nylon tip.
3: Closed mounting plate for 1“ mirror.​​​​​
The mirror is locked in place by a​​​​​
threaded pin with nylon tip.
4: Mounting plate for 1/2“ mirror. The​​​​​
mirror is fastened by a threaded ring to​​​​​
enable smooth, gentle locking and​​​​​
prevent deformation of the mirror.​​​​​
Specially designed for mounting
high-planarity mirrors and thin optics
with a​​​​​center thickness of 2 mm.

Holder 45° s
Holder 45° s:
Tube System C
The base on this holder is designed to be​​​
fastened to the optical table with the​​​
clamping fork, so you can use the 45°​​​
column to fasten mirror mounts for 90°​​​
upward beam deflection. The resulting​​​
optical axis height of 40 mm ensures​​​
compatibility with the Microbench and​​​
FLS 40 systems.

Please note that these can be used only​​​
with mirror mounts that have the Allen​​​
head adjustment screws.

Holder 90° s
This mirror mount lets you position a​​​
mirror at an angle of 45° in the​​​mounting plate of the holder. Thus you​​​can
implement a 90° deflection without​​​
installing the mirror mount at an angle.

Holder 90° s:
Holder 90° lets you attach the mirror​​​
mount horizontally on a support rod.​​​
This setup allows tilting prisms in two​​​
axes, with a third adjustment screw for​​​
height adjustment. Alternatively, the​​​mirror mounts can be fastened at the​​​back.
Cube mount 12.7 s:
This clamp holder 12.7 is ideal for​​​
mounting beam-splitter cubes, prisms or​​​
thin-film polarizers with a maximum​​​
edge length of 12.7 mm in the mirror​​​
mounts. Optics are positioned in the​​​
holder between lateral screws and​​​
fastened in the mirror mount over the​​​
12.7 mm base of the holder. The result is​​​
a precise, economically priced prism​​​
adjustment.
Decentral mount 1/2“ s:
The decentral mount can be used for​​​
excentric mounting of a mirror or beam​​​
splitter in the mirror mounts. The mirror​​​
can be mounted so that the mirror​​​
surface is in the rotation point of an axis.​​​
With the two adjustment screws, this​​​
enables quasi-gimbal motion.
