January 29, 2017 - First United Reformed Church

Lord’s Day, January 29, 2017
We extend a cordial welcome to all who come here to worship our wonderful
covenant God. Please fellowship with us also following the service in the
Fellowship Hall.
Prayer & Praise
Our Worship
• Revelation 5:9-10 reminds us of the saving work of Christ and the call for
all nations to worship him: "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open
its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for
God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have
made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the
earth."
Our Community and World
• Pray for humility and godliness in order to submit to the authorities God
has placed over us in the Federal, State and local municipal governments.
• Pray for opportunities to show Christ's love for your unbelieving
neighbors.
Our Outreach and Missionaries
• This week we pray for missionaries Rev. Steve and Nalini Poelman, who
serve in India out of Cornerstone URC, MI. These missionaries labor in
hostile lands amidst intense pagan idolatry, materialism, and open
persectutiuon. Therefore we pray for their protection and for those who
will come to know Christ. May God Bless the Poelman family, and the
spread of the gospel to India.
Our Church Family
• Pray that the Lord would comfort Gertrude Docter, Jerry and Aileen
Stueve, and their family as they mourn the death of Henry Docter. Pray
that the hope of the resurrection in Christ would bring meaningful
encouragement.
• Pray for Nellie Vander Pol as she remains in skilled nursing at Inland
Christian Home.
• Pray for Clarine Wiersma as she continues to recovers from her knee
replacement.
• Pray for Henry Lambooy, Parker Freeman, Herm Haringa, Laura Darnell,
Jerry Struiksma, Gerard and Helen Van Beek, Mike Pierce, Hank Van
Heyningen, Pete Koedoot, and Henrietta De Groot, as they deal with their
respective health concerns.
• Pray for Shirley Bansberg, Lawrence Bouma, Billie Anne De Vries, Teddy
Japin, Gertrude Docter, and Tina Rollema who are unable to join us in
corporate worship.
• Pray for spiritual growth for Vaan Huynh and Sam Bice, members who are
living overseas.
• Pray for the Nymeyers as they continue to make plans to move in April.
• Pray for Diane Woodhead, who is battling cancer, Whelma, Rose Castro's
sister, and Ashley Price's friend.
Our Federation
• Give thanks for the work of the URCNA Missions Committee which met
this past week in Phoenix, AZ.
