Sociology Masks
The Year 9 Sociology class took part in a competition over the Easter Holidays. The task
was to design a mask which represented one of the key sociological perspectives
(Functionalism/New Right, Marxism and Feminism) and provide an accompanying
commentary about what the mask depicted. The masks were then judged by members
of the Year 10 Sociology class.
1st place was awarded to Danielle Fulton, 2nd place was Josh Hoyes
and 3rd place went to Georgia Wardell.

Gifted and Talented Year in English
Year 7 students, identified as Gifted and Talented in English, were invited into the Learning Resource Centre to a presentation of
the extra-curricular scheme of work, formulated and run myself, which has been specifically designed to encourage the students to
broaden their understanding of literature. The programme asks the students to research specific topics with the end result being a
response which helps them practise skills fundamental to achieving success at GCSE.
I was supported by David Gordon (Director of Transition) and members of staff from the English Department. Following the
presentation, parents/carers and students were invited to discuss the programme further.
