Job Description - Pool Server ( Seasonal Position) This serving position provides guests with the ultimate dining experience in a fun outdoor environment. Posting Closed: April 30, 2015 Apply in person or send resume to [email protected] Specific Duties Will Include; Perform all required opening duties, which will include lifting up to 40 pounds and cleaning Carrying food by hand from main level to second floor multiple times per hour Work in the outdoor weather environment for shifts of up to eight hours. Set a fun and entertaining environment to your designated area Take pride in entire outlet ensuring all necessary items are stocked, i.e. pool towels, etc. Greeting guests and performing regular serving duties as set out in the blue Standards of service Anticipate any requests before they are made, including coffee, water, drink refills Smile, greet guest, offer beverages and take food orders both accurately and, as well as taking any required condiments to the table prior to taking their food out Perform and exceed the Pool Terrace Steps of Service Standards Pour and serve wine, beer and limited cocktails. Meets and exceed weekly sales targets. Drive business sales i.e. promotions and sales incentives Work closely with other departments to optimize guest satisfaction, relative to food and beverage Clean and reset area including and not limited to all relative equipment Perform all required closing duties Responsible for the signing out and safe return of the service keys, deposit cash and appropriate paperwork in the safe Maintain safe/clean work area Contribute an energetic and positive attitude to the hotel atmosphere Follow company policies & procedures as outlined in the Employee handbook, and is able to effectively communicate them to other team members Understand and work in accordance with health and safety mandates Qualifications: Excellent Command of the English language – written and verbal. Other languages an asset 2-3 years bartending and serving experience required Experience in sales or an equivalent position is a must Ability to manage a varying section, while maintaining bussing, bar service, and food running MUST be physically fit. Lifting and moving quickly is a mandatory part of this position Strong knowledge of liquor brands, cocktails, wines and beers Excellent guest service skills, desire to meet and exceed guest expectations Upbeat and outgoing personality with a high level of self-confidence Impeccable grooming and professional image Sense of urgency, strong work ethic with a passion food and beverage and the ability to work unsupervised Strong sense of accountability, detail orientated individual with a need to please Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work as part of a team Knowledge of the service cycle Extensive cash handling experience MaitreD or other point of sale experience Serving it Right and Food Safe certification Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to carry and balance heavy trays for extended periods of time up and down stairs Ability to work under pressure and with sometimes demanding/abrasive customers
