1 Define Your Classmate!

January 10, 2016/100 points + possible 10 point bonus
Define your classmate!
1. Find one word that describes the personality of the classmate sitting to your right. (Obviously, mean,
angry, untrue, malicious, or bullying words will draw you a trip to Mrs. Ogden’s office.)
2. The word must be unusual, obscure, and difficult for your classmates to guess. (Make it fun!)
3. Important: You must keep your word a secret from your classmates until your presentation! (Telling
classmates your word will eliminate the possibility of bonus points and may result in an F on this
project.)
4. Write a three paragraph essay (15 sentences total) on the back of this sheet or on a separate piece of
paper. Follow the directions in Chapter 16 of your English book (pages 363-374). Your essay title is the
word you chose. Your essay topic is how this word relates to your classmate sitting to your right.
5. Your essay will be presented in class. First, you will present the title. If your classmates can’t guess
meaning of your word, you will receive 10 bonus points.
6. There will be a classroom press conference after your presentation. Your ability to answer the
questions about your word is part of your overall grade on this project.
