Thank you for your interest in applying for the ANKYLOS Poster Award 2017.
The conditions for submission of entries are indicated below. Please send your work as
a PDF file. This will be copied and sent to each of the adjudicators. Please write a brief
description of the objective and results of your work on the application form and send
the completed form, together with the PDF file and the signed ‘Conditions of entry’ form,
either by mail to the address below or by email to

AWARDS CEREMONY
CASE PRESENTATION POSTER AWARD
ADJUDICATION CRITERIA
Prizes for submitted works will be awarded at
the ANKYLOS Congress, May 26–27, 2017, in
Vienna.
•The case presentation is to be prepared in
the form of a poster in DIN A0 portrait format
with a white background and is to be submit­
ted as a file by March 31, 2017. The langua­
ge should be English.
•Case presentations should describe a surgi­
cal, prosthetic, or implant surgery procedu­
re that produced a particular result, led to a
satisfactory outcome in a complex case, or
represents an advance in everyday dental
practice.
•The case presentation must not have been
submitted, either as a poster or as a case re­
port, for consideration for any other award or
as an assessment item for courses of study
or masters degrees, nor may it have been
published previously.
•The following seven conditions must be sa­
tisfied:
1.Only dentists and dental technicians who
were directly involved in the treatment of
the case may be listed as authors.
2.The case presentation must contain an
introduction or statement of a problem, a
photographic representation of the base­
line clinical situation with models and infor­
mative radiographs.
3.The periodontal situation must be descri­
bed.
4.The treatment or method must be descri­
bed and justified.
5.The therapeutic procedure, including den­
tal laboratory work, must be described and
documented with photographs.
6.The outcome must be documented with
radiographs.
7.Results and conclusions must be explicitly
stated and discussed.
•All submitted case presentations will be
exhibited in poster form at the ANKYLOS
Congress 2017 in Vienna
•Further the three best presentations will be
invited to address the audience from the main
podium during the Best Poster Presentation
Session on Saturday, May 27th at 14:50.
Submitted works will be evaluated on the
basis of the following five criteria by an adju­
dicating panel consisting of four independent
dentists and dental technicians from hospitals
and dental practices:
1. Scientific quality
2. Relevance of the topic to dental practice
3. Originality and innovation
4. Significance for implantology
5. Form and presentation
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
•The prizes will be awarded for new works
that relate to implantology and are of clinical
relevance.
•The work must not have been submitted
simultaneously for consideration for any
other award and must not have won any
other award (other than a university award).
•The principal author may submit only one
work per category.
•The work must be the intellectual property of
the author(s).
•The winning entries will be chosen by an in­
dependent adjudicating panel from all sub­
missions.
•The decision of the adjudicating panel will be
final with no legal recourse.
•It is possible that no prize will be awarded.
•Submitted applications will not be returned.
HOW TO APPLY
•Send us a CD or DVD containing a file of
your case presentation in poster format by
March 31, 2017. This will be copied and sent
to the adjudicators for evaluation.
•Enter your contact details on the application
form and provide a brief description of the ob­
jective and results of the work.
•Send the application to the address indicated
above.
•Send a printed poster of the case pre­
sentation to the address indicated above by
May 17, 2017.
CASE PRESENTATIONS
•Case presentations that fall within any of the
three categories Single tooth, Tooth-bound
edentulous span/distal extension case or
Edentulous upper/lower jaw may be sub­
mitted.
PRIZE MONEY
A total prize money of 5.000,-- Euro will
be shared between the three best submitted
works as follows:
1. Place: 2.500,-- Euro
2. Place: 1.500,-- Euro
3. Place: 1.000,-- Euro
