Who needs a license?
Anyone 16 or older is required to buy and carry a fishing
license to fish or take fish.
How many rods can I fish with?
One. Anglers can use a second rod, hand line or tip-up
by purchasing a second-rod stamp. Youths under 16
must have and carry with them a second-rod stamp if
fishing with a second line.

Poudre Canyon
Can I use live minnows for bait?
Yes, but only in waters below 7,000 feet that are East of the
Continental Divide. Live fish collected for bait may only
be used in the same water from which they were collected,
they may not be transported to other lakes or rivers. See
the Colorado Fishing regulation brochure for details.
GLOSSARY OF FISHING TERMS
ARTIFICIAL FLIES AND LURES means devices made
entirely of, or a combination of, natural or synthetic
nonedible, nonscented (regardless if the scent is added
in the manufacturing process or applied afterward), or
materials such as wood, plastic, silicone, rubber, epoxy,
glass, hair, metal, feathers or fiber, designed to attract
fish. This does not include anything defined as bait
below.
BAIT means any hand-moldable material designed to
attract fish by the sense of taste or smell; those devices
to which scents or smell attractants have been added or
externally applied (regardless if the scent is added in the
manufacturing process or applied afterward); scented
manufactured fish eggs and traditional organic baits,
including but not limited to worms, grubs, crickets,
leeches, dough baits or stink baits, insects, crayfish, human food, fish, fish parts or fish eggs.
FISHING is defined as efforts to take fish, amphibians
or crustaceans, including by hook and line, handline,
trotline, jug, seine, net, underwater spearfishing, archery,
snagging or gigging.
