We are an ARENA Team!
Arena is the premier swimming outfitter and developer of equipment in the World. They are similar to Speedo, Nike,
Adidas, etc. We are excited to be a team picked to be sponsored by Arena. With that comes the responsibility of the
team to represent their company while we are at the pool for practice and meets. They offer us equipment and
outfitting with a professional and team look. We do not ask that you go and replace all of your Speedo or Nike suits and
bags right away. However, it is assumed that if you are in need of a new practice suit, competition suit, goggles, warm
up, equipment bag, or other item, that an Arena product is purchased. As with other teams and sports that require their
teams compete in the same uniform, continuing progress toward a unified team look will have tangible benefits in the
athletes’ performance and team experience.
An Arena cap, suit, and warm up jacket are considered standard meet apparel for all Blazer swimmers (Blue and
above as well as Red swimmers who are competing regularly).
Team Suits:
This year we will have a number of team suits available all with the option of including a team logo screen print for $5.
We would like all swimmers to have a team suit to wear to meets. The options are listed below. Please see the Blazer
Team Store available on KCBlazers.com AFTER you sign in to your account. You can also look at arenausa.com for
information about their products.
Polyester/PBT Suits:
These suits are the classic style suits made of polyester and PBT which have been available the past 2 years with
KCB. They come in 5 styles:
Brief: traditional male suit - $33
Jammer: knee length male suit - $40
Madison thick strap: female thicker straps over shoulders - $52
Master thin strap: female thin strap over shoulders and more back coverage - $52
Mast thin strap: female thin strap over shoulders and less back coverage - $52
Technical Suits:
This year we are excited to also add the Powerskin ST to our options of team suit. The Arena Powerskin ST is a
high performance racing suit made of a very light knitted fabric that is specially treated to obtain an extra
smooth outer surface. Thanks to the thinness and higher content of Lycra, Arena Powerskin ST Kneeskin ensures
outstanding comfort and dries very quickly. It also guarantees excellent durability in chlorinated water
(arenausa.com).
Brief: male - $50
Jammer: male - $80
Classic: female thick strap - $90
Kneeskin: female thick strap with knee length - $120
Practice Suits/Goggles/Caps:
While these items are "swimmer's choice", we request that all Blazer swimmers support our Arena sponsorship during
both practices and meets.
Practice Equipment:
Each practice group has required equipment for practices. This is to support techniques in training and stroke
development. Please read the list of equipment below and the items that are required for your swimmers practice group.
These items are also available in our Blazers Team Store. The team asks that the type and style of equipment is followed.
All Blazers should have the same equipment. The coaches choose these items carefully to match the training objectives.
Variating from the type/style of equipment that is recommended can change the swimmers' implementation of the
equipment and, in turn, not reach the objectives the coaches have set for training.
Equipment By Group:
Green: kickboard, fins, mesh bag
Red: kickboard, fins, mesh bag
Blue: kickboard, fins, mesh bag, snorkel
Gold: kickboard, fins, mesh bag, snorkel, pull bouy, paddles
Senior II: kickboard, fins, mesh bag, snorkel, pull bouy, paddles
Pre Senior: kickboard, fins, mesh bag, snorkel, pull bouy, paddles
Senior/National: kickboard, fins, mesh bag, snorkel, pull bouy, paddles
Kickboards (ALL Practice Groups):
While kickboards are available at the practice sites for swimmers to borrow, we request that all swimmers have
their own. Almost all groups will use kickboards everyday in practice. All-American Swim Supply has a great
hard board that supports swimmers in the water in the right way to supplement correct kicking technique.
Fins (ALL Practice Groups):
Younger swimmers: Speedo Shortfin - see sizing guide or try on at team fittings.
Older swimmers: Speedo Shortfin OR Arena Tech Pro Swim Fin
The Speedo Shortfin works great and is affordable. The Senior/National Group uses Arena Tech Pro Fin which
has a slightly higher cost but also works legs in a slightly different way. Take this into consideration when
planning ahead for training.
Mesh bag (ALL Practice Groups):
Used to carry equipment and set at end of lane for each practice. Dries quickly and deters mold.
Snorkels (Blue, Gold, Senior II, Pre Senior, Senior/National):
Blazers use/recommend the Y-Lon Snorkels that we have found are easy to use and affordable compared to other
styles. These are issued to swimmers from the site coaches and will be billed to your account upon receipt ($25).
Pull Buoys (Gold, Senior II, Pre Senior, Senior/National):
Blazers are in the process of ordering pull buoys that will be issued to swimmers who need them in the same way
as the snorkels (from site coaches). They will then be billed to your account ($8-$10)
Paddles (Gold, Senior II, Pre Senior, Senior/National):
Blazers use/recommend Strokemaker Paddles. Most swimmers in these groups will start with size "green". Please
talk to your swimmer's coach if you have questions about size.
Blazer Apparel
There are number of options in team apparel available on our team store. Each swimmer will receive a Blazer t-shirt and
cap shortly after the season starts. The team also encourages swimmers to purchase items such as warm ups and parkas
that are available in order to create a team atmosphere at meets and encourage team identity and pride.
