realignment process all about?
Why is this conversation happening? Over the last few years, Battle River School Division has been experiencing changes. In the City of Camrose, that has included:  Having more younger students than older students enrolled in local schools;  Some Camrose schools being crowded, others not, as neighborhoods grow and change. Who is working on solutions? In order to plan for the future, BRSD has invited a “working group” of about 15 parents and 15 school administrators from the City of Camrose schools to gather information, talk about the realities of space and develop options for how local schools might be configured in the future. The group is working together to seeking to create long term solutions which are in the best interests of students. What will the result of the working group be? At the end of the planning process, this group will have created options for realignment of Camrose schools and prepared a recommendation for the Board of Trustees to consider. How will other parents learn more about the options? Parents can keep checking this website or watch their school newsletters for updates. Information will also be placed in the local newspapers. Plus, there will be an online opportunity for all Camrose parents to have input into the ideas put forward by the working group. When will changes take place? Recommendations from the working group are expected to go to the Board of Trustees in January. If the Board accepts the recommendations, changes would take place for the 2014‐2015 school year.
