With the implementation of the “new curriculum” the Ministry of Education has allotted Mon. Jan. 18th and Fri. Apr. 29th for teachers to work on the new curriculum. Feb. 10th Parents will have the opportunity for take their child(ren) to the Kootenay Ice game against Tri City. The game will be @ 11:00 a.m. If you are interested, ticket order forms are available in the school office. Deadline for ticket orders: WED. FEB. 3RD. Tickets will be available for pick up after Feb. 5th. Students will not be marked absent during this activity but we ask that parents confirm with us that kids are home for the game. Amy Woodland Talent Show Our Amy Woodland Talent Show is just around the corner and we want you to perform. This year’s show will take place on Friday, February 19th. The Talent Show is open to a variety of acts: anything, but not limited to: Dance, Music, Comedy, Magic, Martial Arts, Etc. Family members (eg. parents, grandparents etc.) are welcome to perform with their kids. Students must come fully prepared with all materials (ie. music, costumes and props etc.) for their audition. Day and time of audition will be announced. Please see your teacher before January 28th if you need any support or have questions. Singers using backing tracks must use karaoke or instrumental versions of the song. They must bring their music on a CD or a memory stick/USB drive to their audition. If need be, the music file can be e-mailed to Mr. Thorn at [email protected] by Tues., Jan. 26th. Students should keep their acts to no more than 2 ½ minutes. The number of acts will be limited to fit into a 90 minute time slot so sign up early! Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off in the office. Dates to remember: 1.
