Old Bridge Senior Center Working Towards Accreditation 2015 will be a busy year for the Old Bridge Senior Center. The center is working towards accreditation. While it is a long and tedious process, the end result will be rewarding. Why get accredited? Accreditation has substantial value for a senior center, as it:* Results in national recognition as an accredited Senior Center. Provides a written strategic plan. Assists in determining outcome measurements. Heightens awareness of Senior Center activities to funders, community persons, participants, and families. Improves and enhances overall Senior Center operation. Highlights best practices. Is endorsed by NCOA, National Council on Aging, which has more than 50 years of nonprofit experience with advocacy for the elderly. It would be an incredible honor if we receive accreditation. In fact, we would become one of only three centers accredited in New Jersey. We will need your help in the coming months—you may see us walking around taking notes and administering short surveys. Your participation will be very useful and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Old Bridge Senior Center Staff *“Benefits of Accreditation” from NCOA website.
