The following characteristics of Europe Social/Culture Economy Geography The discovery of the natural resource coal in Germany and Britain helped support the industrial development. Europe is seen as a peninsula of peninsulas; so many countries depend on the seas in their economy. Entrepreneurs are individuals who create businesses, which create jobs. Many European countries use the rivers, harbors and ports to distribute goods. European Union is an example of cooperation among European countries. Be able to locate England, France, Spain, Norway and Sweden on a map. Using the Euro as the currency in many European nations has made it easier to make economic connections in Europe. The Iron Curtain, was an imaginary line that separated Eastern and Western Europe during the Cold War. Christianity is the most common religion found in Europe. Leonardo Da Vinci (Mona Lisa), Rafael, & Monet were European artist that contributed to the culture through their art. Stain glass art helped pass on religious traditions to those that could not read. Most countries in Europe are multicultural. It has caused some tension between culture groups.
