Dear Campanelli Families,
We are excited to kick off our first year of the Campanelli Math Challenge fundraiser. In the past
we did a Spelling Challenge, but have switched to a Math Challenge for this year. This is an educationally
engaging project that supports student learning. In addition, it allows students to contribute to school
pride because their hard work results in additional resources for Campanelli students. The money raised
will directly benefit and support the Campanelli PTA. The PTA supports our students through funding
projects such as the Birthday Book Club, One School One Book, Summer Reading Challenge, PBIS
Assemblies, and much more! There is nothing to sell and the Math Challenge is set up in a way where
everyone can participate. Finally, it is educational and fosters a sense of community and school spirit.
What is the Campanelli Math Challenge?
- A fun way to practice math facts
- An educational way to raise money that will benefit Campanelli students
- A family-oriented project that draws in extended family, friends, and neighbors.
(We are strongly discouraging students from going door to door to ask for pledges.)
How does the Campanelli Math Challenge work?
Attached to this letter are the math facts/skills, by grade level, that the challenge will focus on. The
students will study/practice the appropriate math facts/skills for 4 weeks. During those 4 weeks, students
should ask for pledges for the number of facts solved correctly on the Math Fact Challenge, or a flat
donation. The Math Fact Challenge will take place on Wednesday, April 5th for K-6 students. The
math fact tests will be graded and returned to each student by Friday, April 14th. The students will
collect their pledge money and return their envelopes to school by Thursday, April 27th.
Reward for hard work:
-A “Campanelli Math Challenge” pencil for all participants
-Fun in the sun with an extra recess session for anyone who filled all of the lines on the pledge
form, raised $25.00 or more, OR obtained 100% on the Challenge test
We encourage all parents to support their children in this endeavor! It is a positive, fun and exciting way
to help Campanelli School. Attached to this letter, please find the list of grade level math facts/skills and
pledge form. Please return your completed pledge form with the envelope by Thursday, March 31st and
the pledge envelope with the collected money should be returned by Thursday, April 28th. If you have
any questions regarding the Campanelli Math Challenge, please contact the office. Thank you in advance
for your support and dedication to Ensuring Student Success.
Sincerely,
Amy Christie
