Parent Cheering Parents, as you are watching your child play, it is important that you cheer for them and refrain from coaching reminders. Some terms to refrain from using are “boot it” – cheering for your child’s long kick likely sends a conflicting message, since the odds are that’s not what the coach was teaching the team during the week), and “get them back for that” – that does not demonstrate appropriate sportsmanship. Some terms you may hear are “wide” – move the ball to the outside of the field, “cross” – send the ball across the field, and “switch the fields” – send the ball to the opposite side Attleboro Elks Soccer Shoot The Attleboro Elks Lodge #1014 will be holding a FREE youth soccer shoot competition for children ages 7 and older.
