Parent Cheering
Parents, as you are watching your child play, it is
important that you cheer for them and refrain from
coaching reminders. Some terms to refrain from using
are “boot it” – cheering for your child’s long kick likely
sends a conflicting message, since the odds are that’s
not what the coach was teaching the team during the
week), and “get them back for that” – that does not
demonstrate appropriate sportsmanship. Some terms
you may hear are “wide” – move the ball to the outside
of the field, “cross” – send the ball across the field, and
“switch the fields” – send the ball to the opposite side

Highlights
Grade K Coed
Grade 1 Coed
Germany: Team Germany had a super start to the
season. All of the players came out excited and ready
to play. Sam, Fin, Max and Izzy were aggressive from
the start though all the players gave their best effort.
We discovered that Corey had a great foot, and
William gave amazing effort while on the field. We
cannot wait for next week.
Canada: The first game went off beautifully. The new
game set up is very nice, allows players to have more room
to move the ball and get to space. As well the addition of
the red zone went surprisingly well and made the game
more competitive. As for highlights the team got off to a
slow start getting down by 4. In the second half they came
together played excellent defense as a team all contributing.
We came back to tie the game 5-5 with some amazing runs
from Zach, Stefan and Michael. All in all it was a great
team effort, everyone played there roll in this game.
Portugal: The Portugal K co-ed team had a great first
game! Despite the brief downpour, the players were
excited to get out on the field. They all listened well,
ran hard, and had a lot of fun!
Mexico: Great team effort by team Mexico Jacob, Kealyn
each scored and Carter scored twice. Aiden, Cole and Ellie
also had good offensive push. Great defensive game by the
team, especially Marcus.
USA: Team USA had a lot of fun in their first game
of the season. Mason D showed his dribbling skills by
getting the ball up field, and Ruthie was able to
protect team USA's goal with solid defense. Overall,
the Team USA showed great teamwork.
Argentina: Coach Pam and Coach Keith saw lots of
awesome teamwork by our whole Argentina team. Every
member was putting in his or her best effort. We can't wait
to see lots of passing and taking shots on goal next week.
Colombia: Team Colombia had a great start to the
season with an exciting game against Portugal. The
players were energetic and eager to get playing. Joe
had an amazing game with great hustle up and down
the field. Kahlan was unstoppable on both offense and
defense attacking the ball whenever possible. The
team is looking forward to another exciting game this
Sunday.
Portugal: The season opener for team Portugal was a good
one. We had five of our players who scored goals on
Sunday. Landon led the way with four goals. The team
played great together and it should be a fun season.
Grade 2 Boys
Brazil: We gave our fullest efforts against Germany.
Dimitri had a tough game but be amended our
inspiration and fueled our team to compete hard.
Owen R. played well as well as Gavin and Owen P.
Grade 2 Girls
Argentina: We had a fantastic kickoff of the fall
soccer season. After practicing more dribbling and
shooting, all players enjoyed playing the big net game.
Ella, Kenna, and Aubrey showed muscle in offense.
Anna, Olivia and Lilian showed their talent in
defense. Adyson, Emily and Alyssa guarded our gate
well as a goalie. Nevertheless, everybody played with
determination in every position and had fun! I am
looking forward to all the following games.
New Zealand: The New Zealand grade 2 boys had a
fantastic first week! We started playing a much bigger
field this fall season, which meant more running,
dribbling, and ball skills! The boys did a great job
passing the ball and learning how to spread out across
the field. A special shout out to all of our goalies in
training, who did a fantastic job stopping that ball at
the net!
USA: A great start to the season for Team USA! The
girls adjusted quickly to now having field positions, a
goalie and playing on a larger field. They played
aggressive and worked well together to pull out a win
to start off the season. Great job USA!!!
Germany: Team Germany had a fantastic start to the
fall season with an exciting first game against Brazil.
The team was energized and ready to go. Christian
was unstoppable on offense with a number of
unassisted goals and Lucas was a wall in goalie
stopping anything that came his way. The team is
looking strong and ready for another round this
Sunday.
Canada: Team Canada had an amazing first week.
They worked together and have adjusted to the new
field size and goalie. They played a hard game.

Highlights Continued
Grade 3/4 Girls
Grade 3/4 Boys
Argentina: Overall great game. Everyone worked
together. On field communication was outstanding.
Defense and goalkeeping was lights out. Offense was
unstoppable. Nicely done Argentina!
USA: The boys had a great game. Our new faces
Justin, Brady, and Ryan all showed that they will
contribute nicely to the team. One defensive
breakdown for team USA lead to a Brazil goal, But
was quickly countered by our own Justin. Great way
to shake off some of the summertime rust.
Brazil: Team Brazil had a rough start to the season.
Kaia and Julia did a great job in net stopping many
advances from the opposition. Avery had many strong
runs into space advancing into the attacking end.
Brazil hopes to find the back of the net in week 2.
Argentina: Argentina had great ball movement this
week and all the kids played hard. Kyle had a goal
and we had great keeper play from Jacoby and Daniel.
Portugal: Chris and John provided solid goal tending,
allowing only one goal. On offense Chris was a rock
star scoring both goals for Portugal.
Grade 7/10 Coed
Grade 5/6 Coed
Argentina: Great way to start the season with a 1-1 tie
against Brazil! The offense had several scoring
opportunities with some great passing. Tim was able
to tie the game in the 2nd half. Josh, Tyler, Arjun,
Arnav, and Alex were fantastic on offense, while
Marissa and Justus played great in goal. Ethan had a
solid game on defense with Abby and Paul keeping
the game close. Alyssa and Yarelis were flying all
over the field making plays at both ends. Wonderful
effort by all players.
Germany: Team Germany got off to a good start with
a 7-2 win over New Zealand. The team played really
well positionally and did a good job passing the ball.
Isabella, Jessica, Nick, Kyle and Derik did a great job
defensively, shutting down many opposing chances.
Robert, Trinity and Annabelle applied terrific
offensive pressure, nearly scoring on several rushes.
Charlie showed great field awareness, controlling
midfield, making good passes and scoring 3 goals.
And Ella and Colin were solid in goal, making several
key stops and also scoring as well, with Ella knocking
in a nice goal on a rush in the 1st half and Colin
netting 3 goals in the 2nd half.
Portugal: There were many fine plays on the field
from all the team, I want to single out the great pass
that Jackie made to give Austin a clear goal and the
great work that Zach and Danny did in goal.
Canada: We had a great start to our season! All
players were assigned offense positions and defense
positions, which showed our team's versatility. Some
highlights include: strong kicks by Gerty, Ninad,
Eliana, and Kyra; fancy footwork by Christopher,
Anthony, and Ryley; remarkable hustle by Vaidehi,
Jazlyn, and Jack; and amazing saves by goal keepers
Nick and Owen. Most impressive was the
camaraderie between this great group of kids!
Brazil: Brazil and Argentina played hard ending in a
1-1 tie. Strong start to the new season.
USA: Team USA lost a tough one 5 -1 against a very
good Team Portugal. Brenden put a blast past the
Portugal goalie to score Team USA's loan goal for the
day. Jaqulynne played solid on both offense and
defense and made several good takeaways. Stephen
and Cameron put pressure on offense but were unable
to score. Maeve and Janda both played very well on
defense and helped to keep Portugal at bay during the
second half. Overall a good strong effort by Team
USA who will only get stronger in the upcoming
weeks.
Colombia: I would like to highlight the passion for
soccer of the entire team. Players did not have
substitute and they did their best. Despite of being
very tired they never gave up.
