In attendance:

Welcome/Introductions
 Reviewed the purpose and history of RAP
o Collaboration of counties to provide effective and efficient training
o Provide training updates and staffing changes for each county
County Updates
 Napa
o Absent due to Peer Review
 Marin
o Safety Organized Practice (SOP) implementation beginning; 30 of
40 staff are signed up for the 2-day overview starting September
20, 2012. Monthly modules and coaching sessions will likely be
with Supervisors.
o Currently understaffed; the difficulty lies in anticipating staffing
needs. Currently a program manager position open.
 Sonoma
o Upcoming trainings include Case Plan and Development training;
save the date and flyer in process. CWS/CMS training upcoming.
o All-staff day in process for October 17, 24, or November 7.
o Staffing changes include Lesley Winters over Valley of the Moon;
open program manager and section manager positions.
o SIP process beginning.
 Solano
o Second cohort for SOP beginning (ER and FR units); First cohort
finishes in January2013.
o Upcoming trainings include petition writing, expert testimony,
secondary trauma, and drug identification (with Chabot).
o Staffing changes include seven new hires within the last three
months, though ten positions are currently not covered. Eight
limited term position for the last six months have saved
approximately $500k; positions are extended for six more months.
Core Needs


Solano needs new user CWS/CMS for 4 staff.
Core to be revised to include the integration of California Permanency
Partnership, Trauma Informed Practice, Fostering Connections After 18,
Katie A, Cultural Humility, and Safety Organized Practice where
appropriate and access how core is delivered to consider blended learning
and transfer of learning opportunities.
o Julie is interested in participating in the revise process [Jennifer to
send her dates]
Foundations of Supervision
 New cycle beginning in February; flyer in process.
CWS/CMS
 Question regarding collaborating with Central Academy to utilize
CWS/CMW trainer, Terry Luna
 Idea for collaboration amongst all state CWS/CMS trainers: is it possible
to create an online sharing resource?
Advanced Training
 Advanced SDM for Supervisors will be rescheduled from 12/13/12 to
12/05/12 in the HSS Multipurpose room at 2101 Courage Drive, Fairfield.
 Request for “Coaching for Outcomes” from Marin.
BAA updates/discussion
 Regional Fostering Connections (After 18) Summit is scheduled for
September 20; all counties being represented except Marin due to SOP.
 Dr. Ruth DeGruy’s “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” scheduled for
December 4.
 Save the date for the Staff Development off site on April 18-19. Location
TBD.
 Testing tablets in Core is going well; positive outcomes as 5 participants
tested tablets in last group of 20.
 BAA website redesign in process; will include online registration.
 Adoptions summit in Spring.
 Court Officer day in February.
