The colonists traded to make money and get different
resources that they didn’t have access to. For example,
some things that they traded were grain, iron, lumber,
fish, rum, and cattle.

The water of the seas and rivers gave the people of the Middle Colonies food,
transportation abilities and the ability to be a trading outpost.
Forests gave the people of the Middle Colonies lumber to craft equipment, storage
usage, and transportation by land, and water.
Mountains gave the people of the Middle Colonies iron to use for equipment and
weapons.
Flat lands gave the people of the Middle Colonies fertile soil to plant crops for
survival, and to export it to other colonies and nations.

Royal colonies were ruled by a king.
