Temporary Painter General Position Responsibilities:  Perform journey level work in painting student rooms, hallways, stairwell and other painting services in resident halls on campus and University Apartments.  Perform any other painting, patching, tape and float and surface preparation of all finishes for interior and exterior as requested by DHFS  Clean and maintain painting and finishing materials, tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.  Use of hand and power tools applicable to trade  Performs work in accordance with established safety procedures  Maintains a clean and safe work environment  Completes job tasks within acceptable time frame  Lifts, pushes and pulls 50 pounds Typical Evidence of Required Knowledge and Skills:  3 years of journey level painting experience  Must be a minimum of 18 years old  Ability to push, pull, lift and move up to 62lbs Working Conditions:  Exposure to construction hazards, including fumes from paints and thinners, extreme temperatures, noise and heights  Exposure to adverse weather conditions  Climb and work from ladders and scaffolding Employment Timeframe:  Up to 40 hours per week  This is a temporary position  Anticipated dates: o On campus ‐ May 16th until August 12th o University Apartments – June 5th until September 29th Work Locations:  Main Campus (various locations)  University Apartments Rate of Pay:  $13.87 per hour
