DNWS, Defense Threat Reduction Agency
in partnership with the
Great Southwest Council, BSA
Boy Scouts and adult Scouters can earn the New Mexico Nuclear
History Trails Award by completing the following requirements:
1. 
Complete the Nuclear Science Merit Badge. (Scouters can meet this requirement by
familiarizing themselves with the contents of the Nuclear Science Merit Badge Pamphlet.)
2. 
Visit one of New Mexico’s Nuclear Museums.

Visit Trinity Site: Open to public 1st Saturday in April

Provide: Name, Unit #, merit badge date (or adult), museum

designates the three areas of New
Mexico where significant events in
Nuclear History occurred:

The symbol for Atomic Energy.
This symbol was also used for the
original BSA Atomic Energy Merit
Badge.
