EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
PUBLIC WORKS OPERATOR:
Interested applicants are invited to submit a detailed application
outlining current experience, background and education. The
successful candidate shall possess a valid AZ license or upgrade to an
AZ license within 3 months of employment at own expense. Must
have the experience and ability to operate Public Works equipment
and perform physical labour as required. A minimum of Grade 12
education is required as well as a criminal reference check.
The following qualifications will be considered an asset:
• Common core surface miner training
• Certification in municipal water distribution system
All considered applicants will be required to submit to a thorough
medical examination prior to the final awarding of this position as well
as a drivers’ abstract.
Must be willing to upgrade and acquire training when necessary to the
Department. Must be willing to accept call-outs as dictated by road
conditions and weather. Excellent benefit package available.

PARKS & RECREATION OPERATOR:
The Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers is accepting applications
from interested individuals to work as Parks and Recreation Operator.
This is a part-time position encompassing up to 24 hours per week.
The days of work may vary from week to week with scheduling being
at the discretion of the Parks & Recreation Coordinator.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and
leadership ability, knowledge of equipment, vehicles and materials
used in the recreation area. Skills in ice-making, refrigeration and
other mechanical maintenance for municipal recreational facilities
will be considered an asset. A criminal records check/vulnerable
sector check is required from the successful candidate.

WEBBWOOD RECREATION COMMITTEE EVENTS
ATTENTION MASSEY RESIDENTS
The Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants starting on May
2nd and continuing through to May 12th, 2017 as weather permits.
Flushing may cause temporary discolouration of water or loss of
pressure. Before using, please run your tap until the water is clear and
refrain from doing laundry while flushing is occurring in your area.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause.

CLEAN UP DAYS
• On Saturday, May 6th, 2017 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, tipping
fees will be waived at the Tennyson Landfill Site.
• Volunteers are welcome to join the Massey Inter-Church Council on
Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 10am for their annual Massey Clean
Sweep. Lunch and prizes to follow at the Bible Chapel on Castle Street.
• The 9th Annual Bob Conroy Memorial Litter Walk will take place
Saturday, May 27th, 2017. Volunteers are asked to meet at the
Webbwood Public Library at 10am. Lunch and prizes to follow.

CANADA 150 CELEBRATION EVENTS –
MONTH OF MAY
The 1st Annual Mother's Day Come & Go Tea with Pie Walk –
happening Saturday May 6th, 2017 from 1-3pm at Webbwood Public
School Gymnasium – $2 admission. Pie Walk – $2 per round.
May 13 – Western Horse Show Practice takes place at the Massey
Fairgrounds. You must pre-register online to participate. Visit

Family Floor Hockey Game Night – Wednesday nights for the Month
of May (Dates are: May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st) at the
Webbwood Public School Gymnasium from 7-8pm.
May 22 – 4-H Car Wash and Bottle Drive @ Massey Heritage Park/Rona
parking lot. Car Wash begins at 10:00 am (Bottle Drive – will be going
door to door, but they will accept your bottles at the Car Wash as well)
