About BCVA
The British Cattle Veterinary Association was established in 1967 and is the cattle specialist division of the
British Veterinary Association.
BCVA works with many different organisations and has representation on various groups including CHeCs,
National Beef Association, Milk Quality Forum, Farm Animal Welfare Council, as well as many Defra
working groups.
BCVA run a range of courses throughout the year on various topics relating to cattle health. BCVA’s Annual
Congress is a mixture of scientific and practical papers given by speakers from the UK and abroad. Other
courses cover such issues as Health Planning, Mastitis, Nutrition, Lameness, Fertility and training for
recent graduates.
Membership Information
BCVA Membership is valid for 1 year. One copy of CPD mailings and newsletters are sent to the practice.
Cattle Practice journals are send to each individual member.
