2008 Chinese New Year Festival
The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre is proud to present the annual Chinese New Year
Carnival which has now becomes one of the most popular and celebrated festivals in Calgary.
The 3-day Carnival features fun-filling activities including sixty and more trade booths selling
different kinds of festival and gift items, demonstration of Chinese folk arts, dragon and lion dance,
martial art & wushu demonstration, Chinese orchestra, vocal singing, Chinese traditional and folk
dancing and a whole lot more. Among all these acitivities, the highlight would be the grand show
of the spectacular <Golden Dragon and Sixteen Lions Dance>.
Every year, more than 500 volunteers and performers will be participating and supporting
the Carnival. This project highly demonstrates the collaboration and team spirit among different
community groups. We would like to thank all for their invaluable contributions and are looking
forward to receive their continuous support.
