COMMUNITY TREE TRIM
Sunday, November 29th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Assemble your group, make your ornaments, and head to Festival Park, 111 East Old Ridge
Road, Hobart, to trim your tree! Arrangements can be made to decorate your tree during
the week (Monday, November 30 to Thursday, December 3), if absolutely necessaryspecific arrangements must be made. All trees will be on display during the Community
Tree Lighting Ceremony December 4th!
PLEASE MAKE ORNANMENTS DURABLE TO WITHSTAND THE WEATHER;
PLEASE REMEMBER DURABILITY
Ornaments should be painted, varnished, shellacked, or laminated (this does
not include food items) with non-water soluble glue. Please hang ornaments with string or
yarn (no wire or pipe cleaners). Secure the ornaments tightly, remember, they may blow
off. Your groups should make enough ornaments to sufficiently decorate these trees.
Approximately 100 -125 ornaments. Please Note: If your group would like to keep its
ornaments, you can remove them by December 28, 2015, during daylight hours. Ornaments
left on the trees will be discarded and will not be saved.
For safety and durability reasons, if ornaments are made from the following materials, we
reserve the right to deny placement of ornaments on trees and/or improper ornaments
will be removed. Please keep in mind the health and safety of the visitors, the community
and the environment when creating your ornaments. Be creative! There are many great
ways to create safe, even recycled, tree decorations!
*The Girl Scouts or the City of Hobart is not responsible for ornaments that are missing, stolen or lost.
