Mine Surveyor Jacinth-Ambrosia, South Australia ILUKA RESOURCES is a major participant in the global mineral sands sector and is involved in the exploration, project management, operations and marketing of titanium based products and zircon. Headquartered in Perth, we have existing operations in Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia and the USA. We are seeking the services of a suitably qualified and motivated Mine Surveyor to join Iluka’s Jacinth-Ambrosia mineral sands mining operation on the far west coast of SA, 280km NW of Ceduna. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager the Mine Surveyor is responsible for survey control at the site to ensure optimum mining of the orebody and continuous supply of ore to the mining unit plant by doing regular, timely and accurate surveys around the site. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring that the survey function is conducted in a safe, efficient and environmentally sustainable way with a results driven approach; Surveying data capture, storage, analysis, volume calculations and reporting thereof during and at End of Month in a timely fashion to enable effective decision making within the team and meet company reporting requirements; and Maintaining the survey control database to approved industry standard enabling its effective use across the team and meet external expectations. To be successful in this role you will need: A tertiary qualification in Mine Surveying; Previous mine site experience with mineral sands and/or other commodities; Demonstrated experience in computer based survey packages in particular Surpac. Experience with other mine production packages eg. Datamine/Prodtrak would be considered an advantage; Prior use of GPS based survey equipment (Trimble preferred)and exposure to MS Microsoft Suite and ArcGIS software; A proactive approach to safety and environmental issues Ability to effectively add value to the team; and Well developed verbal and written communication skills. This permanent role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off (8:6) roster FIFO Adelaide or Ceduna (only) based at the mine with full camp facilities provided. Applicants with a demonstrated familiarity with remote work will be highly regarded and preparedness to work in a remote location on a rostered commute is essential.
