Raw Materials Sourcing & Supply
SunOpta’s diversified global sourcing and supply platform ensures the
highest quality and value in our raw materials. Our capabilities include
contracting and purchasing Non-GMO and organic products from
growers, as well as sourcing high quality products internationally. We
select premium varieties for their superior food quality characteristics,
agronomics and manufacturing attributes. Our global perspective
enables SunOpta to see trends and proactively prepare by creating and
expanding supply.
Sunflower
SunOpta specializes in long shelf life, high oleic sunflower kernel
and long, large inshell sunflower. Our offerings include high oleic
and traditional sunflower products and nut alternatives. We’ve been
a worldwide supplier of sunflower for the snack, confection, baking,
cereal, and food ingredient industries.
• Inshell sizes include standard 24/64, 22/64 and 20/64.
• Kernel products include: High oleic, traditional kernels, bakery
kernels, chips, specific chopped sizes and sunflower meal. Oil roasted,
dry roasted, honey roasted, and flavored kernels are also available.

Sunflowers are a nutritionally dense food,
power-packed with protein, fiber, vitamin E,
minerals, healthy fats, and phytochemicals.
- Sunflowers contain essential fatty acids and
a good balance of mono-unsaturated and
poly-unsaturated fatty acids.
- Sunflowers are a good source of Vitamin E,
a powerful antioxidant.
- Folate is another beneficial nutrient that is
found in sunflowers, which is essential for
healthy development.
