When putting an equation into slope intercept form, your goal is simply to get y by itself.

Use inverse operations (doing the opposite) and

The 9x on the left side of the problem cancels out.
The -9x and 6 on the right side of the problem must
be rewritten in the next step.

Now to get y by itself, you need to divide both
sides by the coefficient. In this case it is 3.

y = -3x + 2
