Spirit Monkey Sticks
Ready to go!
Spirit Monkey sticks are being distributed this
week during a special assembly to tell the kids what
they are about and how they can earn more.
Spirit sticks will tie into the Positive Behavior
Interventions & Supports (PBIS) program in the
school. They will be used as rewards for targeted
behavior and program participation. We will also sell
a variety of fun sticks as a PTO fundraiser. Thanks to
Dr. Kravitz and Kelly's Boot Camp, all students were
gifted with a Spirit Monkey starter key chain and a
"First Flock" spirit sticks.
Make sure to ask your child about this
assembly!

Cardinal Ridge volunteers are
starting to think about After
School Enrichment Program
additions to incorporate in the
Spring. Spring ASEP is targeted to
begin in March. The children
have so far enjoyed the current
offerings and those are tentatively
scheduled to continue in the
Spring. Stay tuned for more
updates in early 2015.

Still Looking for Volunteers
Rally for Recess Contest
Awesome events at our school, like Bingo Night,
would not be possible without the help of parent
volunteers. We have had some excellent help already
and are so thankful for those who have stepped up.
The PTO Board is encouraging more parents to
explore the Sign Up Genius link for ways to step up
and help. There are big and small opportunities.
Take a look at the roles and make 2015 the year to
volunteer at your school!
From all the puzzle pieces collected we
were able to complete 15 entries into
Dannon Yogurt's Rally for Recess
Playground Contest. Winners will be
announced in January 2015. It’s a longshot but we’re keeping our fingers
crossed.

MORE DETAILS WILL come in January.
The PTO is working on organizing a
Reading Night tentatively scheduled
for January 23. We are working with
the school’s reading specialists to set up
an event that will encourage students
to let their imaginations take over in
the books they read. More to come as
this gets underway…

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS – Fun Facts
-The word Christmas is Old English, a contraction of Christ's Mass.

-Clearing up a common misconception, in Greek, X means Christ. That is where the word "X-Mas"
comes from. Not because someone took the "Christ" out of Christmas.
