Stamp rates and business rates
The prices detailed on the following pages fall into two price categories – stamp and business
pricing.
Jersey Post stamps are available to purchase from any of our post offices around the island. In
addition, stamps for local mail and mail to the UK, Isle of Man and other Channel Islands can be
purchased from a variety of supermarkets, convenience stores, garages and card retailers.
Business pricing applies to those business customers who have either a franking meter or a
postage account with Jersey Post. There are certain access criteria that qualify customers for
these services and their associated rates.

Bulk mailing discounts
In addition to the rates within this booklet, Jersey Post can offer preferential rates for customers
who regularly send large volumes of items.
To qualify for these rates, minimum volume, size and weight criteria apply and Jersey Post would
be happy to discuss these access criteria with customers. For more information, please contact

Sized-based Pricing
Jersey Post calculates all postal charges on the size and thickness as well as the weight of items
being posted. There are three categories into which all items fit:

Items are classified as letters is their measurements and weight do not exceed:

Most letters and cards fall within this category, but cards with badges or embellishments might
be thicker than 5mm so would fall into the Large Letter category.
Helpful tip – If you send an unfolded A4 letter, it will be classed as a large letter. If you try
folding the letter and sending in a smaller envelope, the item becomes a letter (provided it is
less than 5mm thick) and therefore cheaper to send.
Large Letter
If the item being posted is larger or heavier than the details above, the item will be classed as a
Large Letter.

Where items are larger or heavier than the dimensions or weight of the Packet category, these
become a Parcel and will be charged using Jersey Post’s Parcel tariffs. There are minimum and
maximum dimensions for parcels:
Minimum: 140mm x 90mm
Maximum: No single dimension to exceed 1500mm
