Car parking bay sizes do not need to be covered.
Car parking bays need to be increased in size when adjacent to obstructions.

Disabled Car Parking Bay Dimensions (as per AS 2890-6)
This standard is not just about off-street parking; it is specific to off street parking for people
with disabilities.
Dedicated angled car bays are to be a minimum of 2.4m in width by 5.4m in length, with a
shared area on one side of the same dimensions.
Shared space angled to kerb requires a bollard protection.
Parking parallel to the kerb is to be a minimum of 3.2 in width and 7.8m in length, with a 1.6m
shared area to one side.
The shared area must be accessed by compliant kerb ramp
