STUDENT’S FIRST MAJOR/DEGREE:
PROFICIENCY EXAM-STAMP 4S: Foreign Languages majors and minors are required to take an exit
proficiency exam at the end of the academic term in which they complete the last course of the major or
minor. No student will be prevented from graduating or from earning their major/minor in regard to
exam performance. This exam requires a fee. See advisor for details.

SPECIAL NOTES FOR THE SPANISH PROFESSIONS 2ND MAJOR:

Students must take TWO Writing in the Major (M) courses. In most cases, this will be the 308 course,
and could include a writing in the major course from the student’s first major.
No course in which a C- or lower grade is earned will be counted toward the major; pass/fail courses do
not count in the major.
No course may be repeated for credit toward the major or count for both the major and minor.
Of the 33 credits required for the major, at least 15 must be taken in residence at WSU. These 15
credits may not be earned using advanced placement or challenge exam credit. Six (6) of these 15
credits in residence must be at the 400-level.
Credits of 105/205/305/405 may not be applied towards the major or minor.
A maximum of 12 credits per semester OR 18 credits per two semesters may be transferred from
study abroad.
The Spanish Professions major is a 2nd major only.
NOTE: A 2nd major in SPANISH Professions requires completion of major requirements only.
